Eva de Gosztonyi is a psychologist who has worked in the field for over 35 years, including 7 years as a School Psychologist for Yukon Education. She is a certified presenter and practitioner in the attachment-based developmental approach of Dr. Gordon Neufeld and is currently the Director of Education Program for the Neufeld Institute.

This presentation will review the most current research on the effect of trauma on the developing brain. The focus will be on the reasons for kinds of behaviour that are typically displayed by our most challenging children. We will then draw upon Gordon Neufeld's attachment-based developmental paradigm to increase our understanding of children's needs. Finally, we will look at how to best intervene with these children to help them to grow to be the best they can be, all the while carrying out our role as the adults in their lives, which is to keep them safe.
